Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew if a vinyl background adhered to starphire glass would be removable and would the glass be scratched up or damaged in the process?

Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? The tank is 8 ft long by 2.5 ft tall so there is quite the large piece that is in question here...

If its too much work or the glass will have blemishes or noticeable markings I think I will just pass on this tank deal.

Thanks,

You'll be totally fine using a razorblade with a handle and some vinegar water. Just keep the blade wet and you shouldnt have any problems with scratching. Change your razorblades regularily.

Once you get an end going, it will be easier to peel.

What are your thoughts on a heat gun?

Just pull it off if there is residue after use some goo gone or wd40 and rub it around and blade it off it will come nice and shiny for you !

That would make it 1000 times easier.

Really not a hard task if it means you'd pass up a good tank.

Using a heat gun is how we would remove vinyl when I worked in the sign industry. Obviously don't point it at one spot for too long.

Thanks to everyone's replies, I really appreciate the tips.
With your suggestions I have decided to go for the tank.
Now just to arrange 6 guys to help me lift the monster and go pick it up.
