I know it has only been a couple of weeks, but that baby Flagfin has turned out to be an absolute joy. He is an eating maniac, and appears to love Mysis and OSI Marine flake food. Particularly interesting is the tearing motion he uses to attack food.

Yeah, I saw that fish at the store - very teeny indeed... I'm thinking about 5 yrs to approach 10"...

Be interesting to see what kind of fishy character it takes on. OR whether it turns into a polyp-ravager.

I read that tangs achieve 90% of their growth the first year. Is that true?

I'll let you know! I seem to remember my Angels growing very quickly.

Wait a minute - you're the Tang Mom! You tell me.

Like I've mentioned before, my elongate (A. mata) went from just over an inch to just under 6 inches in 3+months. Fast enough  By the way EmilyB, it was great meeting you at OceanAquatics' meeting. Thanks for the polyps. Doing great & very beautiful. Orange, yellows, & greens. Next time your on the coast, give me a ring & I'll probably have some frags & macro for you. I'd love to see your tank next time I'm in Calgary.

Hey Bob, how's your flagfin doing. I really like 'em but I read they were a bit touchy. I've got a queen & koran & cherub, so I guess I'm all angeled out for now, but who knows in the future......

The Flagfin is still doing fine. Remember though it is still a baby. I have not seen any growth on it yet.

OK here are three. They were taken with flash, and are a little dark. They will do for now until I do some work with the pics. The pics nicely show the size when compared with the clowns. The clowns are less than two inches total length.

How do you like that size tank?
I was thinking about building one about 36"x24"x24" or so at some point.
Kind of simliar in shape and size...

I had that tank made for a couple of reasons. The length was so that I can light it with a single MH pendant. The width is for aquascaping purposes. I don't like a tank that is too high because of the need for stronger lighting, and the increased depth is usually wasted space.
