I just bought a 200w one and it hasn't arrived yet, but after reading many threads elsewhere about these things blowing up, I am hesitant to put it into my tank now.

Does anybody have experience or knowledge about these heaters? They are quite expensive... but I don't want it blowing up in my reef.

I stick with ebo-jager heaters. In 15 years I have never had one blow up in tank.

Thought about buying this too but ended up with jager. Every heater fails or has the chance of failure at some point but jager seems to have the best reliability and that neo-therm seems to be like a timer, waiting to blow off.

Jagers are not made in the same place they used to be. They are not as good IMO as they used to be. The Cobalts, never had a problem with them. They are the best heater we have used/sold hands down.

Of all the heater failure threads I've read, Jaggers have never been brought up that I have seen. 'nuff info for my shopping needs.
I'll stick with my Ebos, regardless of where they're made now.
And for extra security, I keep them at the water mark (not submerged).

Other brands may have 'fixed' their issues after failures, but I'm not interested in a product that had a 'trial run' at our expense.
