Hi reefers were going to paint our living room and kitchen my tank is. 29 gallon bio cube. I was wondering should I take out the whole tank out of the room ? Or cover the tank with a wet towel ?

Any tips or idea would be helpful
Thank you

I would just cover it. A big garbage bag would probably do the trick.

There is also paint you can buy that has significantly less off gasses.

Probably not a guarantee but far less likely to affect your tank.

I painted around my RSM130 recently and didn't cover it or anything but had lots of windows, etc open.

My tank is zoas, lps and a few mushrooms...sps may be more sensitive.

Livestock list
1 rbta
2 frag zoa
4 fish 2 clown cardinal banggi and damsel

We gonna paint washable paint and we will leave all the doors and windows open

Just out of curiosity, anyone on the board here had any losses due to painting?

I lost almost everything from painting but it was not your average household paint it was automotive paint in a spray can. I have painted the walls around the tank many times without issue or any kind of covering on the tank.

I painted stairwells and entrance way around my tank and didn't cover it. Nothing died. Most paint now is low VOC. Like others said, open windows (for your own sake as much as the fishes) and stick a bag over it and you'll be fine I reckon
