There is a guy on craigslist who sells them all the time for around $20... The blue ones with a lid...held syrup or something like that.

I bought 2 white ones that had vinegar in them and just can't shake the smell in the barrels. I thought this would be pretty easy, I was wrong. Yes I have seen quite a few postings on guys selling them too on cl, but what was in them is my concern. If I can find some cleaned or something that had easily removable product in it then I will grab a couple more

If you want to get the vinigar smell out try acid (can get it at Rona)

Big Blue Barrels (http://vancouver.craigslist.ca/pml/for/5383493789.html)

This is the guy I get barrels from. Having a removable lid is very handy. The residual food additive syrup is easily removed with hot water.

No go on the bleach. I thought that would get rid of it too but nothing.....:frown:
