Brutal..... why do they have to dredge the whole floor to just get the dead clam shells? what do they do with them? What China is doing in the South China Sea right now is probably gonna start a war

Those clams are century old and costs at least US$1,000.00 a pair, some people collect them and use them on home decor and antiques.

Here's one ad on ebay that cost US$1,200.00

http://www.ebay.com/itm/90lb-Real-Giant-30-clam-sea-shell-Tridacna-vintage-huge-Authentic-30X18X12/231783314151?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D2%26 asc%3D34875%26meid%3Dfa4b83e4a3644821a70f85d5336a2 160%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D22%26sd%3D2522 16485113

So it's obvious why they are doing that.

Not only Poachers poses problems on the Spratly Islands, China is also building Military structures within the Philippine territory. They already reclaimed 311 hectares of Coral Reefs to build the structures.

I'm sorry but the destruction of 311 hectares of healthy Coral Reefs is no BS to me. That will take thousands of years before we can bring it back to where it is before. Not in your life time for sure. If...

No biggie Ram3500.

I grow up in one of those 7,000 islands that my country has, I for one took the beauty of those Reefs for granted, until I came to this beautiful country and started creating my own glass-boxed reef as I missed them. I then realized how lucky people on that part of the world that they gotta enjoy the beauty and wonders of those reef without spending a penny.

I'm a living witness on how my fellow country men neglected and destroyed those reefs due to ignorance and poverty. Until recently that environmentalist and NGOs stepped up and did conservation efforts.

Sorry if this kind of depressing but that is the story of my Reef Life.
