What do you guys use to measure your effluent coming out of your calcium reactor. I see people say they have like 60ml coming out, do you use just a measuring cup, and what do you use to hold you PH meter if you have one?

To hold the probe you can make yourself a probe holder to hang in the sump (that is if you are using a sump.) Basically a container that retains effluent and your probe which overflows into your sump.

I have a small tupperware type container attached to my sump wall. When running sumpless, , I use a large shotglass, attached to the overflow eggcrate with a tie wrap.

For measuring effluent amount I used a smaller measure cup type thingy. I cant remember when I measured the effluent rate last. Dont bother anymore as it never made much sense to me.

I just set it at a fast drip, close to a stream and adjust the bbm accordingly. I then measure the effluent alk. and ph.

I,ll move this to the general forum for you. Likely more answers there.
