Well thats just freakin lovely. Cut my overflow glass too high. Works but water level to near top. Should have listened to the tank builder at Concepts....but oh no, I know better. DOH!!
Anyone have a solution besides emptying tank & redo overflows walls

I like danger.I run mine 3/8 from the bottom of the euro brace.

You've always got the gap under the bracing PLUS the thickness of the bracing :)

This is without overflow running, just at top of lip.

I could take my eggcrate guard off, giving me another 1/4 in. perhaps. But then no protection

Im half an inch to trim, 1in. to top of trim and tank. Again not running , just at lip.

I have less than that. I have top of overflow with a row of eggcrate and eggcrate touches eurobrace. Works fine

How far is the water surface from the bottom of the cross brace with everything running?

Whats your return pump Brad?

Its 3/8th without overflow running. I don't have my sump all complete yet.

I run a Quiet One 4000 for return. I prefer a slower turnover, so works perfect. I could go more though if I wanted.

Im running a Eheim 1262. Maybe have to go to a MaxiJet. I don't require a ton of flow from it either but worry how my 2 MP40,s, RW 8,s & Maxspect 150 will make much surface movement

Pump should be fine. I have 2 Tunze 6055 and 2 Jebao RW15 and waves splashing out of the tank. Not an issue.

Doug, it's hard to tell from your picture but the level its at now looks okay to me. Really need to see it fully running to be able to tell. Worst case you will have to bring out the diamond bit and shave off a quarter inch from the overflow glass.

Is that possible? I was looking for info on it this afternoon.

I have shaved off glass with my die grinders(Dremel) before and if you take your time it should come out nice. It does leave quite a bit of a mess though, most likely have to tape off the tank with cardboard cut to size and masking tape. I also put masking tape on the glass outlining where I need it to stop as a reference and it will prevent the glass from the possiblity of cracking. I am no expert by any means, this is just from my own experience. Contact a local glass shop and as the what is the best but to use.

Ha. Fixed it good. Concepts is cutting me new ones including overflow teeth. :D

Of course that means draining tank, and cutting it out. Blah

Thanks everyone for all the good advice.
