I'm pretty sure it was a brain coral I saw on A nature channel once that was the size of a house. It made the diver beside it look like a damsel.

In the sense that the species still live and eat. Most amazing thing is that they are like a mammal.

Since the thread is kinda off topic...
and people still smoke at gas stations.
The biggest corals I have grown are a 12" acropora and an 18" x 14" sunset chalice from a piece 2" x 4".
The ocean is a different story. House sized corals can be common. I've seen table acros 10' across.

One of the biggest Acros I have ever seen in person, from one of our trips to Indo.
