Nice pictures, even though they don't do the tank much justice. You gotta be there to get the full experience  .

Haha, you make it sound like my tank has mystical powers or something... or it could be all the "kalk" in the air

Between the baggies of white stuff and the intense grow-op lighting, it's a wonder more of us don't get put under surveillance...

Looks great!

 I'm glad most of my neighbours know that I keep a reef tank.Unloading several mh fixtures and carrying zip-lock bags of kalk into my garage doesn't look to good, especially when you drive by at night and notice a bright glow comming from the basement

Alrighty, since people keep bugging me, I'll post some update pictures. The tank has been doing "ok." I've been having a terrible time with microbubbles (I think there is a pinhole leak where the pump faceplate joins the pump). As a result, I think some of my corals aren't as colorful as they use to be.

Brown with baby blue tips and brown with green (use to be purple  ) tips acros. In the background you can see my orange cap that is finally bouncing back after losing most of its tissue (oddly enough though, the polyps remained even after the tissue was gone):

Yeah, went Starboard just to see what all the hoopla was about. I actually quite like it this way. You really don't know how much your snails poop until you go BB. I can honestly say that I do notice much more polyp extension on my SPS though. That could be complete coincidence though.

Harvey,

Are those uniseals on the the DIT Skimmer??

mr_alberta
11-17-2004, 06:48 AM
Yep. 2 1" uniseals and 2 1/2" uniseals that I have to plug now since I changed my design.

It's amazing to see the corals change color that dramaticly!

Especially that red milli go to green!

Where did you pickup the uniseals?
I have been looking for them and everytime I ask someone they don't have a clue what im talking about...

I need a couple ½" ones.

mr_alberta

I have a pair of unused 1/2" ones that we can trade something for. I got mine from AquaticEcoSystems. That place sells everything...including clear PVC fittings!

Its unfortunate that I couldn't retain the original colors...looks like I have a lot of work to do water chemistry wise.

I have to grab those frags from you sometime anyways...

Tres bizarre, no? My red Mille has one green branch, the one laying on its side. And my brown/purple cap looks just like yours. It's amazing to me how differently they respond based on placement in my tank...

Your tri-colour looks real fine.
