After months of trying to catch certain fishes in my 90 G reef tank unsuccessfully with out ripping down my whole aquascape, I bit the bullet and bought this fish trap at J&L today.
I watched a number of video's on how they work on u-tube, and they seem to work well. Sorta like your car jack, it's not used often but when you need it you have it.

what an expensive hobby, even cost money to catch it out :).

Works great. I have one and some friends used it also. With some fish it does require a bit of patience

I looking forward to giving it a try, I don't mind sitting in front of the tank and waiting I find it very relaxing.

I built my own and it works well.

The only thing is that the Reef Gods as usual make a simple job tuff.

When ever I have used it every fish in my tank other than the one I want seems to go in eat the food and leave. The fish always seem to know that you are trying to catch them.

That's funny Tom, I had the exact same problem. Every fish in there would hang in the trap and look at me. If only that royal gramma knew I was saving him from a lionfish and the inevitable.

patience is a virtue, take your time and wait till all fish are at easy in the trap and yes always the fish you want out is the last to get confrtable in the trap.
good luck it'd like fishing or trapping in your own living space..lol

what's the best food to put into food tube?
I got it set up and ready LOL, everybody is curious and some are going in and out except the one I want to catch. "big 2" blue chromis"
BTW he's FS once I catch him $5

If it's chromis you're after then brine or mysis. I preferred brine shrimp as it was smaller and better for the tube.
