Hey guys,
So I have finally started something I've always wanted to do, though I underestimated the learning curve .
Thankfully there are lots of helpful people and advice on this site!
My set up is currently as follows:
-29G Biocube (Used)
-I'm using the stock lighting, though I had to do a temporary (hopefully) mod to the cooling, as the transformer and fans were fried. I also added an extra blue LED i had kicking around to the moonlight array.
-So far I have 30Lbs of liverock that I got off a fellow canreefer that was shutting his tank down, with some dead rock in the sump area and a 1" sand layer that came in the tank.
-after having someone test my water I have added two blue/green Chromis
-Also free with the live rock came a mushroom (still alive), a cluster of polyps?, lots of little stars and some small snails. Of course all sorts of other goodies that are tiny ;)
The tank has been running for just over two weeks and is at the diatom stage. No ammonia yet, nitrates holding at 10ppm and Ph at 7.9-8.1
Pics to come!
