I have a beautiful high end German AquaPhoton light fixture with 4x250 MH and 12x39w T5 for sale. Absolutely flawless condition. Comes with 4xVertex 250w MH Electronic ballasts and hanging kit. Splash protectors cover all lighting surfaces.

Each 250w MH light has its own power cord. The T5's are split into 2 zones. The central 4 T5's can be used for actinic's on one power cord and the other 8 T5's on another. I used an Aquacontroller to gradually ramp up and ramp down lighting from the actinic's, to all 12 T5's and then each individual 250w MH.

The fixture is 73.5" long and 20" wide. There are high quality reflectors for each MH and the T5's. It is totally silent. Suitable for a 6-8 foot tank. Great for wide tanks too. The AquaPhoton site is all in German, but Google will translate it for you.

All bulbs are all about 1 year old. I have spares that I will throw in for the lucky buyer. All the working parts are readily available. I recently replaced one of the flourescent ballasts, so you are not buying obsolescence. This fixture will last forever.

With a total of 1468 watts at your fingertips, this thing grows coral!

Asking $589.00

Obviously running these lights is not free, but the monthly cost is about $50/month here in BC at our Tier 2 power cost of $0.1170/kwh if you run the following schedule:

2 hrs/day - 4 actinic
11 hrs/day - 12 T5's
10 hrs/day all MH

I drank the koolaid and changed to 480w of LED's. I gradually lost most of my SPS. My heaters run flat out all the time to maintain tank temperature, so much of the savings in lighting are offset by the heating cost.

In hindsight, the change to LED was not a good move for me. But, I no longer have the time or desire to rebuild my tank to what it once was. I now have a job with global responsibility and travel far too much.

These lights are not for everyone, but they are a great solution at a very attractive price for the right person.

That is like the German Cadillac of lights or some other car that starts with a M. I have only seen one before. Man I wish I had a 6 foot tank to put that over. Someone is going to be a lucky buyer.

Would you consider putting that on a greyhound to Calgary?

Would you consider putting that on a greyhound to Calgary?

I am not completely opposed to shipping this at buyer's expense, but it is very large and quite heavy. I am also concerned about the potential for damage in transit. I'm willing to package it up the best I can, but would assume no liability for damage.

Let me know your thoughts. You can always PM me.

I have had a few inquiries about whether I will ship and how well the unit will ship. Yes, I will ship and I think that the unit will ship well via Greyhound. This is not a flimsy piece of equipment.

I would suggest shipping in three boxes. One long box for the fixture itself, with all the bulbs and tempered glass sections removed, with styrofoam padding. A second box for the MH ballasts and cords and a third box for all the bulbs and glass pieces. While three boxes would increase the shipping cost, it would be the safest. I'd also suggest that the shipment be insured. Although I will do best to package everything as well as possible, I will not be liable for damage in transit.

To cover the cost, time and effort of the packaging, dropping off at Greyhound, etc, I'd ask for an add $75 plus actual shipping costs to my asking price.

I have spare MH bulbs and T5 bulbs that I will include with the fixture.

Let me know if you are interested.
