Imagine my surprise when I looked in my tank this evening and discovered the back half of my peppermint shrimp was inside the mouth of suncoral polyp. In a million years I never would have thought it could eat something that large. I tend to feed all my LPS very heavily so I would not have thought hunger was a factor (if they even get hungry???). I feel kind of bad saying this - but the suncoral is looking pretty spectacular right now after it's feast!!

Maybe it's just a shrimp molt your sun coral is trying to eat, and the shrimp is still around in hiding waiting for it's shell to harden ?
It's pretty hard for a sun coral to eat an active shrimp, unless the shrimp passed away ...
I'll wager the shrimp is still around tomorrow
Nature in action.....cool

Suncorals do get hungry considering they are nps and not LPS.
I agree it's possibly a melt
