I'm not happy with NLS pellets any more. I'm finding they aren't sinking; they float for too long and half of them end up going down the overflow. I am using an automatic feeder... this isn't an issue if I submerge the pellets with my hands, only when they drop onto the water out of the feeder. Fish seem to like them...

Any suggestions for other brands of pellets to try for fish? What about Coral Frenzy Reef Pellets? I've used New Era pellets, but they are oblong and don't come out of the auto feeder consistently... although I do like that they're soft. Are the reef pellets soft? Do they sink easily?

I made something like this to corral my pellets when they come out of the feeder and then they sink down after a bit:

I made one by cutting a rectangular plastic container in half and siliconing it to an old mag float.

That's pretty neat. It's an idea... but I think I'd rather try a different food first.

I've been reading now that the Coral Frenzy pellets seem to sink well and work well with auto feeders. Maybe I'll give them a try...

Great idea! I've been thinking how to achieve that. NLS seems to be a pretty good food when im not feeding frozen. Thanks for the idea!

So what kind of pellets don't sink right away? Both my Ocean Nutrition & New Era sink so fast the crabs and shrimp enjoy them more than the fish. Except for my female perc and sleeper goby that pick them from the sand.

I'm probably going to order one of these.
