Was at work today and they were takining down all the 400 and 1000wt mh down to replace with t8"s.I asked if I could have a couple of reflecters and ballasts,he said take as many as you want, they're going in the garbage. They can be wired for 120,277,and 347 volts. The problem is I cant remember what color is for the 120

you should be able to find tha tinfo on the manufacturer's site. Or the sticker on the ballast.

I found the diagram on the side of the ballast after I took it out of the housing, works fine.Did a test run in the garage with the bulb and even for a non-reef bulb, its still pretty white.I have 4 complete with ballast(in a housing with heat sink)sockets and bulbs(will have to pick up some 10k's)and reflectors.
Hmmm,maybe I'll run 2 400's over my 54gal

4 was all I could fit in my buddies trunk :frown: There was about 20 complete units, both 400 and 1000watts already taken down, still about 50 more units.I'm going back Monday morning to finish takeing down tables and chairs from a charity race/breakfast,so if I can get more,I'll grab more for sure.

If I had my van,I could have taken at least 12 of the 400 watts.I wonder if 400 wt 10k over the 115 which is 36x24x30.5 is too much?Anyone running a 400 over a tall tank?

Anyway you can get your boss to hold the stuff over until Tuesday? I'm free Tuesday mornings... I can bring my suv
Or maybe Monday night? Free ballasts and reflectors! Who can let that slip by!?

I re-assembled the unit and remote wired the ballast.Tried the pendant above the 20gal,first horizontally and then verticle.Much better colr when verticle(still not a 10k,but not bad)Will have to see what a proper 10k will look like when mounted horizontally above the tank.

I have about 10 400wt magnetic ballasts that need caps(the guy salvaged them for the metal :frown: )If you can find caps for them, then help yourself  I have the cases for them as well.
I'm working on several units complete with case, socket, and cords(just have to buy a few more rolls of power cord and plugs. Will try to get pics of the complete units soon.
