How old can a tank be?
I hear silicone can last 10 years, I hear that tanks have been running 15-20 years. So realistically how long can silicone and plumbing seals last?
My tank is over 6 years old. All is fine. Silicone and relevant seals are good. Just wondering.

I've had tanks last over 20 years and other split at the seams after only 2 years. depends on the guy who was working that day...

I have been using the same tank for 14 years. On and off too so the silicone has gone through a lot of dry/wet cycles. It still seems fine, other than some scratches on the glass.

My 120 was 22yo in June. Still looks like new except for one minor scratch an the front glass.

I have a 33 gallon that is 17yrs old and no issues and I had a 10 gallon that I had from childhood that was still in great shape when I sold it 2 yrs ago.
Then again I've seen tanks that split 3 days after filling with water.
