I been told if you cut an harm off is going to leave the fish alone,I told the guy at the LFS I had to take my tank a part just to catch him that one time, are reef safe but eat all my chromis and 2 gobies in 1 week, night time predator...

thats like saying if you cut your dogs mouth off it won't bite people. Pretty ignorant way of dealing with something that is doing what it's supposed to do. Instead of cutting it's arm off maybe you should just research what your putting in your tank.

+ 1 I agree Nick, Tangs & Wrasses are expensive meals I would say the lobster in the wrong home. I would think about the LFS and the guy you dealt with and maybe deal some where else in the future. Anyone who would advise you to mame an animal just to get a sale gets low credibility in my books.

the store is long gone now.. I don't agree with comparison with the dog... Animals , but different species

You missed the point.

Cutting an arm off the lobster is not the way to go about solving the problem. That advice is like saying if you have an aggressive fish, the solution is to cut its fins off and it won't be able to bully other fish (same idea with the dog example...doesn't matter that it's a different animal..).

Not sure why you would need to be told that purposefully impairing an animal would affect its ability to function as it should..

Guess what..if you cut both arms off the lobster, it'll solve the problem for sure.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this the way I do. I wonder why the store is long gone now

I agree with you guys, I'm against cut the arm off a lobster, I just did not agree wit the dog comparison, when I got the lobster at the time had only one arm, after a week molt and got both the arms back, that's when started to eat my small fishes... I did not know much about the lobster at the time read some positive comment and always trusted what the people at the fish store said, cause they dealing with this stuff on daily basis, then I realize that a lot of those people just want the money and don't care about anything else... When I tried to give back to the store is when I been told to cut the arm off, so I just traded for hermits.... Now the only store I trust the most is jl in bby , and before I add something on my tank I do my research....
The lobster is a great looking addition tough, is shy IMO ...
