Maybe tell us the dimensions  And FYI, I light my 33 G semi cube (24"X18"X18") with one 175W MH pendant.

150 DE HQI MH would be fairly sweet.

IMHO, YMMV, EIEIO.

what are the dimensions of the tank?
what do you want to keep in it?
any supplemental lighting?

i am planning on a 45 cubish tank...24x24x18H
and i'm gonna light it with a single 250W DE MH 14k.

most likely be mushroom dominated, some zoos, clams and a few select sps.

I light my 37G Oceanic Cube-like tank (IIRC 24"x21"x19") with a 250W DE 20000K AB bulb. Works fine for me!

Nice looking tank Harvey. Now all you need is some nice bright zoos under that blue light.

so a 250w would probably be the best idea then?
I only have the choice between a 10k and 20k bulb also.

That pic doesn't do Harvey's tank any justice... the tank is amazing up close.

Hey thanks guys for the compliments!

If you aren't going to be supplimenting, then I would suggest a higher K bulb such as 14000K, or 20000K depending on how much blue you like. As for wattage, it really depends on what you would like to keep coral wise and if you plan on upgrading in the near future (it is a hassle to have to sell and buy equipment everytime for a new setup...believe me, I know).

I bought it used off of someone on ReefCentral a while back. You can find some great deals on there sometimes.

I'm lighting my 45g cube (24x24x18) with a 400w Radium (or 2  ) Might be overkill, but I have them.

Very nice looking set-up Harvey  How long has it been up & running ? My oldest tank is a Oceanic that has been going for 8 yrs, moved a few times and was a couple of yrs old already. You like it so far ?

Hi,

Thanks for the compliment! My tank isn't that old. Only been set up since early February of 2004, but everything was from previous nano's I had set up. So far the Oceanic is pretty good, but the stand really doesn't have enough room for anything, and I have noticed a small leak from my tank that I haven't been able to track down. All in all though, it is a very well built tank.

It should be coming down in a few months though as I get my new 110G set up.
