Couple nights ago I looked in and one was shooting a white cloud out of it's mouth guessing this is a male releasing sperm into water this went on for 25-30 minutes then the anemone next to it did the same thing. What do you guys think babies soon? This is the vid bit hard to see but you can and sorry about my friend that can't stop talking lol.

Congrats Ryan, they look beautiful so if they did truly spawn they might help mom and dad buy a new house for all there babies

Thanks rich fingers crossed I'm guessing with 6 others in tank I must have a few females but in my opinion only 2 maybe 3 are even big enough. 2 are still very small quarter size maybe loonie. Also have no idea how long the females take to produce offspring after being fertilized there is very little info on the net about them.

Sexual reproduction is not likely to produce babies for you are their larval stage is not something they are very likely to get through in a typical aquarium. Weirder things have happened, but the chance is very, very, VERY slim. Keep an eye on water quality as all those gametes are going to decompose. Get ready to do waterchages. :)

It looks like the additional ones you have now are made from asexual reproduction, which is the typical way that anemones multiply in our aquariums.

All my nems but one were tank bred from another can reef member he actually has had them reproduce many times in his system also skimmer less. Pics of the babies shooting outta females mouth are pretty cool.

None of these were from asexual reproduction rock flower anemone do not reproduce in that method if you cut them they die and the don't just grow babies of the side like a Yuma or mushroom. Only way of reproduction is having males and females.

Hey sorry my mistake, my comments are in reference to Maxi Mini not Rock Flower. Rock Flower anemones are quite unusual. It was too early and I it didn't register in my mind proper.

No worries lots of people that come by my place have never seen them before. they have been around for years, but as far a I know the multi colour neon varieties are some what new to the market. When I set up the tank I tried some what replicating there environment that's why I put the Fuji mud in the sump. The water I have seen divers collecting in is far from clear with silt on the bottom in areas. Also I have looked up average temps for Florida waters with that info I replicate the temp there in my tank with controller plus longer photosynthesis period. I found some info saying they reproduce at the beginning of summer and end so twice a year. If this is true they are right on time, but that does not in any way mean the females actually were fertilized.
