Well after a short break in having a tank. It is time to set up my old/favourite tank again. Goal for this one is to keep the look and feel of minimalism. I already have the structure which may be a familiar from my old build thread with this tank. I feel I have a handle on my coral hoarding ways, so my plan is to choose a limited number of unique corals and let them mature in a way that accents them.

Equipment:
24" X 24" X 20" cube tank
ehiem 1260 return (might swap in a red dragon 4.5, not sure if i want to figure out how to plumb it external like the ehiem)
10 gallon sump
250w pendant with xm 20,000k bulb, (awaiting a 250W radium).
Vertex 260 illumina with multi-aux module as a back up/ alternative.
Bubble magus calcium reactor
Profilux 3ex
Tunze 6055 & 6045

To be acquired:
Skimmer- undecided
brs/shlobster dosing pump for carbon/start3
co2 tank and reg.

here is a cluttered old photo of what the tank and rock looks like, new "empty" tank pics to follow.

Here is the tank at the moment. Finished soaking the rock in or water to help leach out phosphates. Still have a few seed pieces in there so the back is a bit cluttered. Those rocks will be in the frag tank in going to plumb into this one. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/30/pe6a7yru.jpg

Yep! A few pieced shifted in our last move, but they were easy to rotate back into position.

I'm still on the outside looking in. My younger brother set up a tank and I was directing him to this site and some others for information. I decided to check in on Jon to see if my old tank was still kicking in any kind of capacity and was pleasantly surprised.

Jon, how are things going? How did school go and what are you up to?

Been a while since last up date. the tank was doing great, until i ran out of reef code b and decided to switch to the bulk formula without thinking of concentration differences between the two. After an aggressive alk drop down to about 3.5-4 and most sps going brown/bleaching. things are bouncing back.Next plan is to get a co2 reg and tank (any leads?). The fish on the other hand are doing great! Added this beauty yesterday, was cruising around the shadows and a little out in the open shortly after being added. Now i just need to get her to eat.
