Seller Beware, Canreef Member Leah.

Hello Everyone,

I just want to let everyone know that you should be very careful when dealing with the Canreef member Leah.

I have dealt with her a few times over the years with no issues. However a few months ago I sent her some seahorses. I asked her to pay for the order before I shipped it. She asked if she could pay for half the order up front and half when it arrived. I thought it was a fair deal assuming she wanted to make sure they arrived alive and in good condition. Plus we have dealt in the past with no issues so I trusted her.

She paid for a little over half of the order so I sent it via Fed Ex next day air. I got confirmation that the order arrived and it was signed for. I sent her a message asking how they arrived? No response. Over the course of a couple weeks I sent multiple emails and nothing. I have called her many times, and I have received the answering machine, I have had her pick up the phone and hang up on me but she will not talk to me.

It has now been a few months with zero contact from her end. So I just wanted to let everyone know that you should be very careful if you are going to deal with this person.

I have also been in contact with another Canreef member, and apparently she has done this before. I won't name this other member but if they choose to chime in they are more than welcome to.

So if anyone knows Leah personally you should tell her to pay her bills! Next course of action for me will be a collection agency. If she wants to ruin her credit rating that's up to her.

If the collection agency doesn't work, Leah just remember when you are having a bad day that KARMA is a B*tch and what comes around goes around!

So if anyone knows Leah personally you should tell her to pay her bills! Next course of action for me will be a collection agency. If she wants to ruin her credit rating that's up to her.

I have several years working in collections.

This will never cause a credit issue. And it has zero possibility of hitting a credit bureau.

You would be hard pressed to find an agency who would even waste there time on this.

I don't know what she owes... But I assume a couple hundred max? It would cost an agency more than the small commission they would make on the file. Very small.

It's a very unfortunate situation. Thanks for pointing it out for everyone on here.

Sorry to hear that there has been quite a few victims by this individual. It is never nice to be a victim however, if reportings like this had occurred sooner she would not have taken advantage of so many people. It would be nice to see the mods to give full disclosure of this individual's full name some do not mistaken for a " good Leah" with the same first name. I think it should also be made aware in all LFS, sponsor or not. If she steals and cheat people hear I'm sure she will cheat and steal at the stores.

After staff review and approval, they're allowed. Marko just posting, not allowed.
We approve them after reviewing facts. One other recent post, after investigating, found that it was not warranted and the seller had in fact met all his agreed on obligations. But in this case, more than one long time respected members were affected and it was deemed warranted to warn people.

From a personal standpoint, I'm disappointed. I always thought highly of Leah.

This is not a bash Leah thread, it's a warning based on 2 individuals with unresolved dealings. Leah can offer rebuttal and/or conclude the dealings to mutual satisfaction, or not.

Nobody gets to call other names. Ever. I actually expect better from the members here. Leah has been given the chance to make things right. If she chooses not to, she will have her account closed.
As you have no idea what's going on other than what the mob is yelling about, you are not in a position to call anyone slimey.

For the record I'm not trying to defend anyone or take sides. I too have been scammed by a canreefer (not this one). Pretty much the first few months that I was on canreef I was scammed out of some money :neutral:

I'm giving her a chance to resolve the issue. Defend is perhaps the wrong word. As I've told Leah in PM, walking away from a problem is not a resolution. She needs to work it out so that the sellers are satisfied with the outcome.

I asked Brad to give her a chance to tell her side of the story. I am very curious to hear it as well. Since there has been zero contact from her since the day she received the shipment from me.

Plus I really do want people to know that you should be very cautious when dealing with her in the future. I thought this was a person that could be trusted. I was wrong.

Leah, do the right thing pay your bills. We can make this thread disappear. Pay Denis first you have owed him longer.

Given Leah's lack of defense and several smart remarks, it seems she's guilty of several scams and has no intention of working anything out. I can't comprehend the ability to go through life in this fashion. I am surprised by these occurrences as Leah traveled to Kelowna from Penticton and spent several hours packing up a small reef for me so my mom could drive it out to me in Saskatoon. I did pay her for this, and she did a great job, and I was very appreciative. I guess it goes to show that you just never know. It is a sad lack of humanity and really disheartens me.

I'm with spit.fire, Rice Reef & The Guy on this. At the risk of being guilty myself of posting on this thread & at what I'm about to opine here. Other than the parties involved in whatever issues have happened, I fail to see the need for anyone else, third party, to make any judgement & comment on someone's character here. It's an info thread until the issue(s) is/are resolved. None of the rest of us really know the whole story or how it may develop. There may be extenuating circumstances involved, who knows. Be content with being informed, why not leave it at that?

I purchased some items from Leah quite a few years ago, the deal went as expected. Of course, not the same as selling to her, but since I've never been in that situation, there's really no need for me personally to add more. Mr. Aquattro is on it.

Update: Leah assured me she would contact the affected members to resolve this issue. She has not. There are no extenuating circumstances, etc. She just simply didn't pay people.
