I have a RODI system which needs to osmosis membrane replaced. It has a rating of 125 GPD. I've only been able to find one that is 100 GPD or 150 GPD.

Does anyone know if I can use either the 100 or 150 GPD membrane? What is the negative impact of going to the lower GPD vs the higher GPD?

Thank you in advance!!

The membranes are all the same size, they will fit into your housing.
But, you have to change your flow restricter, to match your new membrane, ie if you go to 150 gpd, you have to have a 150 gpd flow restricter. You should change out the FR anyway, when you chg the membrane.
The 100 gpd membrane is about 90% efficient whereas the 75 gpd membrane
would be about 98% efficient. If you are using DI as well, with the 75 gpd, the DI would last quite a bit longer.
I imagine, a 150 gpd membrane would be less efficient again.

Hillegom,

The flow restrictor is the last piece before the water enters the drain?

My existing flow restrictor has the number 450 stamped on it. Will this flow restrictor work fine with a 75 GPD membrane?

My flow restrictor is just after the ro housing, in the line to drain.
About yours, you would have to ask the manufacturer, 450 is meaning less to me.
But if you get a new membrane, just buy a FR for it at the same time. They do wear out, or get clogged. My last one only cost me $1.50. Another time, they just threw it in. Guess that one they made the money on the membrane. lol

can also get a variable flow restrictor.

Mark,

Variable flow restrictor sounds like a great idea.

Where would I pickup one up from?

Just emailed spectra pure about this yesterday lol. I know they said going from a 90 to a 100 is no big deal at all, but rejection rate is higher
