So about 4 months ago I made the switch from regular GFO to HC-GFO and I have noticed a few changes in my tank. Primarily, the colour of some of my corals. I find my corals that have some green in them have gone a lot more green. An example is my Ultimate Bonsai. Normally light green with dark blue tips and fluorecent green polyps. The blue is lighter now but thet green is darker and covering far more of the base of the coral.

I have obviously reduced the amount of HC-GFO to half of what I was using of regular GFO. I am just wondering if it may be leaching too much iron in the tank... Heck, maybe it's not even the GFO causing an issue, but, all the darker green hues in my tank is leading me to the potential iron content in the tank. Anyone have a similar occurance at all? I would be interested in hearing about it.

Did the change of GFO change your phosphate levels at all? if they reduced a lot that could have caused the colour change and the resulting growth and colour up
