Hi, I am 1 week into the cycling and I have the diatom bloom that I remember going on. What I don't remember having is the red bubble algea that i have all over. Do I have amnesia? I have turned off all the lights to try and discourage it. Any thoughts/ comments? Thanks Rachel

Red bubble algae? That's not normally associated with a new cycle.

Yup, lots and lots. I didn't think it was a good sign. Great,I get to scrub rocks some more, they were throughly scrubbed prior to going in the tank.
