I went into a pet store today and the guy sold me this as a mushroom. I don't think it is a mushroom tho, can someone please help me out and tell me what this is? Thank you.

What pet store ? If its in red deer there is only one that has saltwater and if its that place you should google the name is all I can say

Turbinaria peltata - Pagoda cup coral
or
some other form of Turbinaria species
