$89 for a 3/4" fish I will probably never see again.. What was I thinking?

I was thinking my pico tank needed a center piece fish. It's a 2 gallon tank that is approaching 4 years of age. It's difficult to jam more corals in. Inverts like sexy shrimp end up eating the corals. I've actually only seen this fish one other time in person so when I heard one was available I went to go look. He was being kept in a 5 gallon tank with some live rock. They said since he was so small they were hoping he'd eat copepods on the rock. This is probably the only time a fish is coming home from the lfs and ending up in a smaller tank. They had to remove all the rock to find the goby in the 5 gallon to show me. Even then they couldn't find him as he found a hole in the rock.

cool , I use to have 4 of these in my 60g and surprising enough I did see them some what often. $89 is a crazy price I got mine for $50 each (I thought $50 was steep). Would buy them agaian if I see them .

Wow, from what I have read they hide all the time. I have had a couple other similar gobies and they hid all the time too.

How long did you have them? In my limited small goby experience none of them lived very long.

I had them for around 5 years , do not know how old they were when I got them. But I would just look on the botttom of my tank through the rocks and I would see them scooting around. They did not come out into the front ever just in the back o the tank. But in a 2g you should see it a bit. Another cool goby I had was a panda goby they need a type of coral to live in but they are tiny.

Wow 5 years! I was under the impression their lifespan was a lot less then that. Good to know. Also I just saw him come to the front. Maybe this fish will be more fun then I thought. thanks for the info
