Anyone know where I can get a tank? I'm looking for a 10lbs. I've phoned a few places around but they are extremely pricey.

I bought mine at J&L for about 160 bucks, I bought a few extra things too boost the total over 200, to get the free shipping.

There are welding sources on ebay which sell tanks, and other people.

when you bought your tank, when you went to fill it up do they have to test it first or did they just fill it up? Just wondering if there is any hidden costs when you want to use a brand new cylinder.

How much did it cost to fill in your area?

34 bucks i think. Theres only one place in my area that can do it the same day/onsite.

I checked the welding stores here, and the best deal I could find was $200 for a 5lb tank and regulator w/o needle valve. J&l beats that with a 10lb tank, regulator and needle valve for $260.

We lease them here in Brandon. About $100/yr. including a fill. I can get the exact cost if your interested. Should be the same in Winnipeg.

I just don't know if it is worth it to rent, mind you I have no idea how long a 10lbs would last for. Cause after 2 years I guess your just pay'n them. I guess J&L's is the cheapest I've seen.

Thats for the larger one by the way, 20# I think the rent is only $40/yr and the fill close to $60 or something like that. No problem with certification or anything that way.

I will find out tonight and the exact cost.

Andy, what about certification? How many times have you refilled the bottle in that period of time?

Well since i just rent it off of pepsi i dont worry about certifacation. I have never needed to refill but when i do all you do is turn in the old bottle and pick up a new one

what did you ask when you phoned pepsi, is there a certain department you ask for. Did you say pepsi rented it to you?

Yeah they use co2 in all there pop dispencing machines and fountain pop machines. You go to customer service or what ever and say you want a co2 bottle they will probably ask why if you dont own a resturant you just tell them, and all should be cool was for me anyway

OK, I see its rented. I agree that avoids any hassle.

Gools, ours come from Praxair but my friend informs me that you need an account there. I beleive it cost him $50 or someting to open one. Guess were not important enough to their buisness.

WOW praxair will fill yours? When i went to them they said they didn't do it. Funny thing though, they had a sign in the window about refill paintball gun tanks.

My friends company does a lot of buisness with them. Perhaps that helped. He still had to open his own personal account though. Maybe each branch is different.

A decent fire extinguisher repair shop can do it also. Most of the bigger ones are set up to recharge the small co2 cylinders for fire extinguishers. Just a thought if you dont have a welding shop near you.

Hey Quinster welcome to the forum. Do you mean pay $60 everytime or just a one shot deal, and then you just pay for a refill charge?

Hi Quinster,

 WELCOME TO CANREEF

Another question. What size is that?

Quinster

ya it is everytime....but most places like welders supply want you to rent the tank $30/year and $30 every fill....this is $60 and if it lasts 3 years....

Hey Doug...it is the bigger one...28" tall x 8" bottle...not sure what that is...I know it is larger than most people use but less trips to refill....it is through blackwoods (pepsi) just I've tried to go there direct in the past and they refered me to the party store
