Any of you guys know how to drill a tank. I have a 180 glass and want to add a sump. The tank should be empty soon. Or does anyone know who in town here will does this at my residence for a decent price?

Cheers

I had Riverfront Aquariums drill a hole for me. I took the tank to them, but the tool is not that big and very mobile, you could give them a call and see if they would come to you.

Thanks Cag. How much did they charge you? How big was the hole?

What size hole do you need? Or, what size bulkhead do you plan on using?

I was thinking maybe 2 - 2" overflows with returns.

Ah, can't help you then, sorry. I can drill 1 - 3/4" holes for 1" bulkheads but at >$100 per diamond drill bit I only have that one, plus a 5/8" drill for float valves, and then my little toy budget got kind of depleted after that.

Hey Tony, are you still the best deal in town if I want a hole drilled in my sump?

Careful Tim, it's about a 6-8 beer job, then there's mileage charges, etc...

But yeah, Tony is way under-charging from what I can tell...

I found a place that sells the bits and has a decent how-to-drill section. I was pleasantly surprised at their pricing as well. diamond-drill-bit-and-tool.com.
