Looking for a way to save money in this expensive hobby? I started using bulk additives years ago, but just recently discovered a good friend can get me the them at a huge discount (he owns a chemical company). So, time to share the savings!

Calcium Chloride - $2.50 lb (BRS $2.81 lb after shipping ect)
Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash - Used for Alkalinity) - $2.50 lb (BRS - $2.81 lb)

A quick look at J&L shows 1 KG (2.2 lbs) Seachem Calcium on sale for $22.05! Alk (1.2 Kg or 2.65 lbs) for $19.95$

I'd prefer to sell in 5lb lots, but more or less is possible too. Get a full bag (Ca - 50lbs, Alk - 55lbs) and I'll give you an even better discount!

Sure, but you have to pay shipping. As it is not live goods, it can go Canada Post - snail mail.

Ron! Glad to see you're back! Not to worry, as long as I have tanks, I will have lots of additives.
I have the Ca and Alk, and can also get Magnesium Sulphate really cheap ($2 lb. BRS is $2.46), but for some reason Magnesium Chloride is way more then BRS ($5 for me and $3.28 at BRS). I'm sure we can get Magnesium Chloride from them and the rest through my guy and get what we need for the best price possible.

Sounds Good. I'm posting a sale later this week, so get here early to get the best selection.

Hey Kelly, I'll take 5lbs of each from you when I come by to pickup our pump group order.

Thanks for the bump, didn't notice this previously!

Will your friend also be supplying Magnesium any chance?

I will for sure contact in the future when I run out of my calcium though!

Mag is different. It is actually 2 parts - Magnesium Chloride and Magnesium Sulfate. Mag Sulfate is really cheap and not a problem. Mag Chloride, on the other hand, is quiet expensive, and his cost is much more then BRS, so not worth bringing in.
I only have a small amount of each right now. If there is enough of a demand I could bring in a couple bags of Mag Sulphate and order the Mag Chloride from BRS.
