Hey guys,

Anyone know what tool I need to cut and or put a new connector on this. This is for a new vanity we are installing. It is pex plumbing but it looks like they used plastic crimp rings???? Should I just cut it where I need to and put a metal crimp ring on it? How did they connect the pex to the fitting if that is not a crimp ring. Didn't know they made plastic ones????

Tony? Did you say you have a crimping tool?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah the builders use some kind of magic heat ray instead of a metal crimper like mere mortals have to use. Just cut it and crimp the new piece on. I do have a crimper you can borrow if you want, but I'm away until Sunday, can you wait that long?

Lol Thanks Tony. I'll let you know. It's not whether I can wait, it's whether the boss can wait.

I believe the fitting in the pic uses a tool that expands the ring which then shrinks back down around the tubing locking it onto the fitting, no heat or crimp.

If you just need to cut it off and put it back on go to Home Depot and get a 1/2" push on connector no crimping required.
