Just wondering I've had it for a year and didn't really think anything of it

Now I'm confused lol. The coral is definitely round and only has one mouth. And the bottom is like a cone so it doesn't sit flat.

The lines on the outer fleshy ring on a meat coral or (Acanthophyllia Deshayesiana) circle around the coral itself where a trachy lines go in the opposite direction from inside to out. The coral in question has the same pattern a trachy. There was a pile of small brains going around not too long ago that had pointed bottoms. Most were bright yellowish but similar to what you have. Not saying yours was from that crop just that I have seen brains that didn't have a flat bottom.

Meat corals will inflate themselves and drape their flesh out over the substrate.
