I'm looking for info on keeping these fish. Been reading all the general fish supplier pages. Has anybody on Canreef kept this angelfish?

I have had one in my mixed reef tank for almost 2 years. No problems to report.
Is in the tank (180 gal) with a Coral beauty and a couple large tangs. As well as as some others.

Are we talking about Genicanthus melanospilos or Genicanthus semifasciatus? Both of those sometime are being referred to as Japanese swallowtail. G. melanospilos is a little easy to adapt to aquarium life, G.semifasciatus harder because of where they are collected. But both will accept prepared food after adapting to aquarium. Both are friendly to other fish except to their own species. Genicanthus is usually reef safe.

I also have a gen m male and female. The male was removed (still out for a cpl of days) because of being a bit too aggressive towards a new female.
