Well, been lurking around here for a while but dont post to often. I enjoy checking out everyones builds so when I decided to start a new tank I thought I should do a build thread. So here goes...

Starting off with a tank from the boys at Concept. Tank is a 180 Gallon 6x2x2. Pics here of the tank just after it got finished at the shop before they delivered.

This is the biggest and first tank that I have had with a proper sump so I am definately excited to say the least.

Wow great looking Tank, do you have pics of the sump or is that what is on the back of it? Sorry I'm new to this if that was a dumb question.
Also what is this photo hosting account stuff that everyone is talking about ? Is it Like Flickr ?

Thanks for the help

Mike

Picks of the sump should be up shortly. The piece on the back of the tank is the external overflow box which connects to the sump. Photo hosting account is just as you described to share photos from a another site such as photobucket so that canreef isn't hosting.

you know it's a serious build when a fork lift is brought out.

Did those little girls help you haul the tank into the house?

The skimmer, probably doesn't meet the skimmer kings standards but I had it already from the last tank

So I am getting close now but not sure what to go with for plumbing, looking some opinions. What's everyone like, hard PVC, spa flex, ect?

studsrsx
11-27-2013, 01:08 PM
No one? Maybe post and or search the plumbing section

I use a combination of both depending on the application. For the most part I use all hard PVC, but when I need bends or a curve I'll try to use spa flex.

eli@fijireefrock.com
11-27-2013, 01:32 PM
I always went hard PVC last build I went all flex. ..hate it as the bends get in The way next build will be a mix of both with mostly hard.

i'm almost always hard too.

If there's a really bendy spot to navigate I'll use hose/flex such as when i put my return and drains through my floor into the basement.
