Hello I am new to salt water and got given a 5 year old 45 gal tank
Anyways I notices yesterday there looks to be some red coral or something growing on the live rock. I'll post a picture tonight. It's very tiny and looks like it will branch out. Any one have any ideas
Welcome to Canreef! Sorry, I have no clue what your red mystery coral could be.

That does appear to be a sponge...not harmfull at all...but can easily crowd corals if it over grows :)
