So everything in my tank is looking great and healthy, water perimeters are perfect. But on most of my zoa colonys there is tiny little stringy brown stuff that looks like algae. And it seems to prevent some of them from opening fully. Is this usual, or is there something I should be looking for or doing to prevent this? Thanks

sorry for the bad pics, best I could do. Hard to see but the stringy brown stuff is there.

I always assumed it was just waste from the coral. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Dependent on the depths that your zoas are, I would go with mites and dip them.

But I'm just a newbie, so you best not take any advice from me.

looks like dinoflagellates to me. They collect on anything that can trap them and then get long stringies, but it's hard to tell with those pictures.

I think its just brown algae that i have been fighting on my sand. I brushed it off and they seem fine. Thanks for all the input guys
