I was looking to get some dry goods and live stock and thought if anyone else was interested?

So, there is some information that I was not aware of and is not on thier web site.

Group buys are not only shipped to one individual Ithe'ambassador') but also billing is to that one individual as well. So an order for $1200 worth of livestock is paid by the person who submits the order and then that person has to get payment from the others ... that is not something I am very interested in to be honest ... if someone else is interested in being the 'ambassador' please PM me.

Shop local.....I'm sure you can get what you want locally.

The local big box stores charge between a 100% and 150% mark up for what I am looking for. In addition the staff know almost nothing about what they sell. When they do have livestock that I want, it is in the 'sorry we only sell that to our friends' tanks.

The local specialty stores, love them though I do, don't carry the products I am looking to buy (and if you bothered to read any of my other posts you would see I do buy a lot from them as is) and the livestock they carry is above my skill level or not something they can afford to carry.

Several times I've placed orders for livestock and been told the fish is not instock. The fish on the site is just a list of the fish they can get in, other than the new and noteworthy. It's a good store for dry goods

The other members have graciously offered to pay in advance so I am the ambassador for the buy.

Thanks Charles for organizing/collecting/transporting the order. Great job!

For anyone looking at ordering from J&L: quality was good but sizes were small. The price advantage isn't that much better when you factor in the size and the fact you don't get to see the individuals first. The clownfish are beautiful. Crisp markings, good color. I think from ORA. The procelain crabs both had one claw missing. I think they will give up their arms as a defence mechanism. I didn't see the claws in the bag so must have been earlier. I believe they grow back. Ordered 3 but only 2 arrived. The snails and hermit crabs all seemed healthly though we'll need to see how they do over the next 24 hours.

I do agree on the sizes mostly. The yellow clown goby was pico sized, not nano :) the clown green goby was closer to actual size. Clean up and shrimp seemed close to the size in local stores and as said will see how they do over the next while.

Only potential issue was the gobies wanting to perch on the torch coral.

well my order is home and all unpacked and in the tank.... great job organizing and taking care of the livestock.

The nassarius snails are Super small..... I thought they would be bigger but they burrowed into the sand so.... I guess for a buck what can you expect. Might have been nice to know they were the really small ones....

I have one death...... I put a sexy shrimp into the tank and he jumped right into the mouth of the tube anemone. It was super fast and all I could do was gasp..... I laughed after a few minutes. I guess thats how it happens in nature.

I'll give a report in a week or so, for how everything is doing.....
