I am in the middle of a build and have run into a bit of a problem...

I decided to plumb the tank with schedule80 pvc but unfortunately they are too large in diameter for my standard size holes in the tank.

Is there anybody in town interested in making some cash re-drilling the 4 bulkhead holes? I havn't got the diamond bits or the bravery to tackle it myself. A 41mm and a 48mm bit will be required to make the holes.

Thanks!
Greg

Was at reef wonderland on sun, and they where drilling a tank. Might be worth giving them a shout.

Just wondering, why sched 80? Kinda overkill.....but you might have a bunch lying around....agree that the LFS that do custom tanks would be a good bet. Also checkout youtube, doesn't look too difficult.

Sorry, I only have two diamond bits and they aren't that size.

Just curious, but what if someone came to drill you larger holes and the tank broke?

Glass drilling is a pretty handy skill to have in this hobby. So I'll be seconding the recommendation to consider trying it yourself.

If not I'm sure a few phone calls to locals stores in town could probably get you your answer on who could do such a job.

I've drilled glass before, but I wouldn't tackle re-drilling existing holes! Sounds like a disaster in the making.

Why not just go with regular sched-40 bulkheads?

What he said and as mentioned, why dont you just go with sch 40?

Thanks for all of the replies! I am just going to use some sch40 bulkheads for sure.

I went with the schedule80 because most of the plumbing is visible, I also just really like the look/quality of the sch80. It has turned out to be a pain though.

The new holes were only going to be 5mm larger so trying to drill 2.55mm off each side seems awful sketchy.

I have really got to try and get some pics of this thing up here
