I just bought a blue and green lepaestrea and its in a cube shape

Does the cube grow or does the green and blue top expand over the cube edges and onto the rock that its sitting on?

Here is a copy photos of it in there

Also, can I put it on the sand to grow?

You can mount it on a larger piece of rock, eventually it will mat over the sides, they prefer medium to high light medium flow. On e they grow out they will expand they're skeleton growing larger in size, you don't want it sitting directly in sand especially if its fully grown over the sides as sand can suffocate the coral or any other sps/lps coral.

I keep all my lephastrea in medium light, medium flow. I have found they have a harder time spreading down vs out onto something. If you can tuck it in a slight hole so maybe a side or 2 of frag where polyps are touch your liverock it will have a easier time spreading.
