Good Day:

I have been fighting GHA for the past few months and I also have another type that has taken over one rock and also came in with the last two coral frags. I received some good advice from the last few posts. I reduced my feeding, increased my GFO/GAC, tried to cut the GHA off the rock but didn't really work. I made up an Excel spreadsheet of my tank parameters and activities. Some of my parameters were off and I corrected those ones.

I have some zoas that grew into some GSP and for the last 2 months the zoas/palys have receded and not fully opened up. I was wondering if this could be a source of some of my problems and what you would suggest.

I only have an Elos test kit for Mg and am planning to purchase a Hanna test kit for low level phosphates, and Salifert/Elos for Alk, Ca & Nitrate.

chromakey: I think you have to copy the public link, otherwise only the dropbox user can see the images.

Hi:

I still can't successfully insert images from Dropbox. Can someone just go over the details on how to do it. When I on my computer I can see the images but I just checked on my Macbook and I can't see them on that computer.

Thanks,

Michael

Good Day:

I was wondering if anyone knows what type of algae is the purple/red type.

Also, how much of an issue is it to have the zoas and GSP growing into one another?

Thanks,
Michael

My suggestion, would be to keep your paramaters stable keep doing water chan he's at 25-30% weekly and run gfo but make sure the outlet trickles slowly, that way it has more reaction time. The hair algae will soon get exhausted, if it grows long that's even better.... Shut off flow and pull it out with your fingers. Patience is the key. I had annoying hair algae grow for 6 months, cooked most of the rock but 2 pieces which still have some, as of late I've noticed it starving out and patches of rock are starting to appear.
