Is there an inexpensive source for roughly 100 micron screen/mesh?

Preferably somthing in Calgary.

Most filter socks seem to be the felt type which I think would be hard to get the cysts back out. Currently I use coffee filters but they are slow and break easily.

They sell white brine shrimp nets at our local fish store. Check yours. It was only about $3-4. Very fine mesh and great for catching out BBS.

I think a brine shrimp net may be too course since they are for catching hatched shrimp which are larger than the cysts. The description for BrineShrimpDirect's net (http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/Brine-Shrimp-Net-p178.html) alludes to that.

Cysts: 240 microns
Newly hatched: 450 microns

Thanks for the idea!

You can use stainless steel reusable coffee filters to rinse BS cysts and NHBBS. They are around 180 microns.

Not cheap but ideal otherwise. Thanks!

Great idea. I'll check them out.

Tried Seachem's The Bag (http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/TheBag.html) (180 microns) which works well.

I have a meshed strainer from Brine Shrimp Direct and I loved it when I used it for brine production. It honestly just looks like a piece of 4" PVC with fine mesh carefully and well clued to the end.
