What would you guys say is the best and most cost effective LED option to fit the Red Sea Max 130? Prefer full spectrum but doesn't have to be. Thanks in advance.

Here's an option:

He also used to have a DIY kit for the RSM130 as well that I bought and really like. I don't see it on his site anymore.

That's the one I've been leaning towards. It looks pretty good. Just want to make sure I'm checking all my options before I go for it. Thanks.

That seems pretty expensive for not alot of light (not sure but seems like 70 watts or less).. for $100 less you could try something like this:

or for like 319 you could have a controllable light. Just something else to consider.

Thanks

The length is 16 but how wide? Would it fit in the hood of a RSM 130?

Can't say for sure since i don't have a rsm. But both units are 16"x8".

Converted mine with a rapid LED retrofit kit.
Couldn't be happier

Did you end up picking an option?

Not yet but I'm leaning towards the Aqua Ray Ultima LED light strips. I think they'll give me the best coverage and color combination I'm looking for.

How do you plan to keep the light strips in the proper positions whenever you open the hood?

I'm not 100% yet but everything I've seen or read has said they run cool enough that you can just 3M tape them wherever you need to. Not sure if that's how I'll do it but by the sounds of things it shouldn't be too hard.
