Anybody here dealing or have dealth with Miracle Aquariums? I"m having some issues and would like to find out if i should proceed with them, i'm even having trouble paying for God sake, i have to go through a gauntlet of micro procedures. How did you find their services. I have another competitor who wants my business and i'm considering it, CAD LIGHT Aquariums.

I'd go with concept aquariums for custom builds but I'm biased:p seriously though lots of positive builds :ppib

I'll second that. They make awesome tanks, are awesome guys and, when I was building my own tank, they gave me a tutorial on how to build awesome tanks. They know their stuff!

years ago all you'd hear about were people across the USA ordering high-end tanks from Aquarium Obsessed and Miracles. The first went under and I've heard more and more stories about issues with quality and service from Miracles in the past few years. I'd personally go elsewhere.

I'm not really sure if constipation is problem specific to Miracle...but I hear the solution is offten more ruffage in the diet.

Anyways...I'll also put in a thumbs up for Concept. They built me a custom 10.5ft L x 2ft Hx 3ft D tank in my basement from scratch. The price was awesome, the service was phenomenal, and it was so very quick!

Yup, I'd go concept aquariums all the way. They built my two sumps and a bunch of other tanks. Very happy with these guys. I recommend them 100%.

I had a tank built from miracles about 6 years ago when I lived in Ontario. Tank was a beaut but it sprang a leak about a year into its life. They replaced it at no charge but still was quite the hassle. I never delt with them directly I went through an lfs. My impression is that they give priority to the big fish and they don't worry to much about small custom builds. Seeing all the nice builds coming out of concept I would probably go with them if you are willing to pay the shipping.

If you are going to get a tank from Miracles them I would go through your LFS which in your area would be Marinescape.

I purchased a tank from concept aquariums in Calgary. its shipping next week.
Denny is very easy to deal with.
the tank price was cheaper than miracles and for some reason the shipping quote was cheaper.. lol I guess Calgary is closer to Thunder Bay then Toronto.

i would just get quotes from each place look here and that other well known forum i will not name . for pics and build threads.
you may pay more for shipping but in the long run is it worth the little bit extra $ for a killer tank?

Ok its sent, no at this point, lol it can't hurt.I'm pretty sure your pricing will be as good as their's, the shipping to Ottawa however might be higher. But it wasn't their pricing but attitude. I was ready to pay and because i had hired someone to take care of my tanks for me, they wanted him to do the payment, not me, they didn't want to talk to me, i'm the client and i had some questions regarding waranty, shipping dates, how to care for the starfire glass etc..... these people are not getting my credit card number......plus i'll have my living room tank soon i want to do, dahhh.

Some one asked me in a private message what happened there it is;

I'm redoing my condo so i'm really busy so i asked a guy who's better than me in plumbing to set up the system for me a to deal with the set up, but this was started at the end of june. And this Dreck guy who seem to be the only guy to be in charge( they say he's Miracle Aquarium) never returns phone calls in time and always has an excuse. Then HE MADE a mistake in the odering , so i called since it was time to pay half at the beggining like they're asking us to do. Thats ok, but because i wasn't the guy who i've hired to set up my tank, he didn't want to deal with me....I had my credit card in hand ready to pay which i told him that...still acting like an *** hole he treated me like **** and send me back of the bus. I can just imagine the after sales services or during the build . I also wanted some precisions on the maintenance of starfire glass, the waranty but none of those subjects came about because i was grilled for not behing at my place..... How's that. I'm the customer, i also had another living room project in mind but it certainly wont be with them. I had my credit card in my hand monday morning ready to pay and i was told he was not availble, and when i get him wednesday he treats me like ****, no way he's getting my money.

the customer service from Denny and concept is first rate. I built a stand for my new tank and after it flew across my garage I decided I should get a steel professionally built stand. Called Denny they are building me a stand rush order so the stand and tank can ship out together saving me some $$.
Very happy I chose them

I am a mechanic not a carpenter

Yep they're ; he's very nice and has lots of options to give us . Much better than the rush talk i had with Dereck from Miracle who makes you feel like you disturb him all the time. He's going to send pictures of my tank too thats cool.

My new plans concepts from Concept Aquariums; The refugium stand is 60" high because it feeds my Reef tank by gravity; and i have a shelf at 30" for my Qt and controllers

My refugium tank with its new C2c and the Herbie style overflow holes and a return.

My Reef tank stand, both stand are powder coated and 2"steel rods

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq68/Basilesim/Tech%20things/christiangassetankdrawingnum22.png

My Reef tank has its c2c with teeth like the refugium and it will have a glass box on the right side to hide the Tunze wavebox 6015 pretty cool hein; it will added later in the next sketch.Another great option Concept Aquariums gave me.

Just saying that my experience with Concept was much better than with Miracles lol and we had things done. The set up was complex because it involved 2 tanks on different levels and with a single sump but also connected to each other by gravity, one feeding the other, the refugium, acting as a natural filter , producing macro algae with nutrients from both tanks, and also pods , all feeding the 150 G reef tank below .

Take a look at the finished project. Its has a theme by the way.

Custom made wavebox i asked them to do , they made the exact size to accomodate my Tunze powerhead.

And the perfect hole for it

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq68/Basilesim/Mon%20systeme/Photo170.jpg

A great coast to coast and an exterior overflow that don't take any tank room away.

I love the look of my Atlas Aquarium with the one piece Starphyre Eur bracing but had nothing but problems with the tank at first. I had a leak at the bottom left corner immediately... Showed me that no leak test was ever performed. After saying they would pick it up repair it and drop it back off, they then told me nobody was around and I would have to drive it back myself. They ended up repairing the tank, dropping it off and helped to off load it.

They forgot to install the back black acrylic piece. Even when I mentioned it to them, when I brought the tank back for repairs, they still never installed it. They gave me a piece of Vinyl that I had to install myself and it looked like crap... Then, after running, the external overflow started leaking!! They at least came to my house to repair it but I had to pull a part my tank twice to get everything done...

Also, this tank took a month longer than was anticipated just to build in the first place. No compensation, no nothing. Just repairs and them complaining that they were losing money on the tank... Well, no crap... It was defective.

At least Miracles builds you a new tank no questions asked. It was just a frustrating experience. Beautiful tank, minus the missing black acrylic, but not remotely worth the hassle that I went through. I have not been back to the store since which is too bad for them because I like spending the cheese.

Bottom line is things happen. It's all about customer service and ensuring the buyer is happy. Concept sounds like a great service provider and that says a lot.

Actually the white walls make such an impact with the blues and greens reflections that its seen from outside on the street and people are talking about it lol. Living on a Blvd , its been a conversation starter i'm told "Whats those lights about" at the Tim Hortons accross the street lol. No kidding if it aint broken don't fix it; people staring at MY window , now thats cool , LOL

They are problem solvers and they have solutions in their game play. I had a few issues that were resolved and it didn't interfeared with the quality of the work or professional Courtesy. And my specs were a bit out of the ordinary with a few demands. And they fullfilled it perfectly. Just check my set up and you'll see what i ordered from them;

I have ordered 4 custom built tanks in the last 12 years from 3 different builders. Not one was done "on time". The trend now is to give a guideline as to when it will be done, not a date. Unfortunately, suppliers run into delays and the builder suffers. This is especially the case for small time buyers of glass, a category that tank builders fall into based on their low volume relative to other industries.

Also, this tank took a month longer than was anticipated just to build in the first place. No compensation, no nothing.
